John’s expertise is in organizational development, human resources and training/consulting. He is an instructor teaching management courses in the School of Business at St. Bonaventure University. Previously he was the director of the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program. He is a former Vice President for Human Resources at a non-profit organization with over 500 employees.
He was the Director of the Achievement Center for Continuous Learning at St. Bonaventure University. In that capacity he was responsible for the development and delivery of training programs and services designed to meet the management and performance needs of organizations, business, industry and non-profits.
Before joining St. Bonaventure University he was the Manager of Training and Employee Development at CUTCO Cutlery Corporation, the leading manufacturer of household cutlery in North America. His responsibilities included developing, delivering and evaluating training for executives, managers, supervisors, administrative personnel and skilled factory positions.
John has over thirty-five years of experience in positions involving organizational development, training, administration, human resources, communications and public relations. He is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
He is certified in the Problem Solving and Decision-Making (Kepner Tregoe) program. He is also certified in Performance Appraisal, Coaching Skills, and the AchieveGlobal library of Supervisory and Management courses. He has worked with industries in Western New York and North Western Pennsylvania as well as non-profit organizations. He’s taught continuing education and/or college courses at Cornell University, Olean, Jamestown & Dunkirk Campus of Jamestown Community College, University of Pittsburgh @ Bradford, St. Bonaventure University, and Alfred University.
John is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), Leadership Cattaraugus, and a former member of the Cattaraugus-Allegany Workforce Investment Board (WIB). He has participated in the Olean Area Personnel Association, and is formerly a member of the Western New York Employee Involvement Council. He is a past president of the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce.
He is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a B.A. degree in Journalism. He received a Master of Arts degree in Business and Policy Studies from the Empire State College division of the State University of New York. He has been instrumental in helping Olean area schools develop partnerships in education.
